Today's world is very different than the world of the past, companies come and go, brands get bought up by other brands. I work in data, and at the end of the day, I take data and then I add value. I am little more than a value-added reseller of data, but in principle, do good companies change?

Warren Buffet is quoted as saying that integrity is the most important thing in hiring a new person, and also that reputation is one of the most important assets a company has. However, these soft skills are extremely hard to measure and too often we hear people bitching about bad service. Rarely do we hear people talking about great service.

Let me tell you about the great experience I had at CVT tents in Las Vegas because it is rare that I am this impressed.

I am not the type to buy a tent and then not use it. I use my tent, I use my Overlanding gear, if anything I OVER use my gear. So I bought my CVT tent on 6/4 /21 and used it 4 times. I bought a black CVT Tent St Helen. I love it😍 I have had zero problems. I shot a setup video the last time I went camping. Well, I bought a Front Runner Wind Flair to cut down on some wind noise, and I needed it installed.

I talked to JD (jd@cascadiatents DOT com )  -  (702) 462-5291  at CVT tents and asked him how much to install the wind flare because I couldn't get to the screws to unmount the front of the front runner rack. (The tent was in the way, duh)  So, he said come down and let the tech look at it.

On Friday, July 16, I headed down to CVT tents in Las Vegas. As soon as I got there the crew got to work installing the wind fair. Well during the install, JD and the manager come out to talk to me and I was nervous, "Oh, no something is wrong, they can't install it" I think.

They tell me the top of my rooftop tent is warped!! (and they think it is because of the crazy vegas sun, remember it has been hitting over 120) and it is a black tent. They tell me "They can replacing it right now, or later (after the summer is over), or I can keep it" and they want my feedback on what to do. So I ask, how much is it going to cost? Then they explain it will cost nothing, the tent is warped and they stand by their products and want their customers to be happy. I told them since all the bolts are loose let's just install it right now. yeah, let's do it.

Then a few minutes later, Brain (one of the installers, and one of the first CVT employees I met)  asked if I want to try a white tent instead? White is the color Brian has on his rig and it is the color I wanted originally, so I say yes, let's go with a white one for sure!

So CVT replaced my rooftop tent at no additional cost and installed it that day!

Some of the things that REALLY impressed me about CVT:

One of the main reasons I got a CVT tent, is because they stand behind their tents, but what does that really mean??

Well they had a few choices: they could have
a.) not notice that there was a problem
b.) noticed the problem and not told me
c.) charged me another install fee - or some other fees

However, what they did do, was noticed there was a problem with the tent and then told me about the problem and then replaced the tent at no cost to me! They even had the owner come down and talk to me. That is a big plus in my book, they supported their product and did the right thing for the customer! In this video, you can see my brand new white tent being installed, and the original warped black tent there in the bottom of the frame.

This level of service is refreshing, this level of service is the reason that I will now buy as much of my tent/awning/refrigerators and more at CVT, because I know if I have any issues - they will make it right!

Thank you CVT tents, thank you JD, Bryan, Bobbie, and everyone at CVT for being GREAT humans and lovers of the outdoors.

If you have CVT tents near you (Las Vegas, Oregon, or Tennesse) - I can 100% recommend them because they stand behind their service and products - which makes ALL the difference in the world.  If you don't have a CVT tent near you - plan a day and drive to one of their locations and talk to them about your camping / Overlanding needs.
